What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to make sales only to retail customers and only at the approved location. However, there are exceptions to this rule.

A Desi District franchisee can make sales through other means, such as wholesale, delivery, mail order, over the internet, or at temporary or satellite locations, if specifically approved or required by Desi District Franchise Group in writing. This indicates that while the standard practice is retail sales at the designated location, the franchisor retains the discretion to authorize or mandate alternative sales methods under certain circumstances.

This provision provides Desi District with flexibility to adapt its sales strategies and channels, potentially in response to market changes or specific opportunities. For a prospective franchisee, this means that while they should primarily focus on retail sales at their location, there may be opportunities to expand their business through other channels if approved by the franchisor. It is important to maintain open communication with Desi District regarding potential alternative sales methods and to obtain any approvals in writing to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement.
