What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to offer all products and services that Desi District prescribes. However, there is a provision for exceptions to this rule.

Specifically, Desi District may vary or waive any System Standard for one or more franchises due to site peculiarities, population density, business potential, trade area population, existing business practices, applicable laws/regulations, or any other condition relevant to the franchise's performance. This indicates that a franchisee may be exempt from offering certain products or services if specific local conditions warrant it.

However, the FDD also states that a franchisee is not automatically entitled to the same variation or waiver granted to another franchisee. This means that even if another Desi District franchise has been granted an exception, a franchisee must still seek and obtain their own approval for any variations or waivers to the System Standards. This ensures that any deviations are assessed on a case-by-case basis and are justified by the specific circumstances of that franchise location.

In summary, while Desi District franchisees are generally required to offer all prescribed products and services, exceptions can be made at Desi District's discretion based on specific local conditions, but these exceptions are not guaranteed and must be individually approved.
