What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program covers several subjects, each with a specified number of classroom and on-the-job training hours. These subjects include an introduction to Desi District's culture, history, and basic setup, which uses the Employee Handbook and orientation materials and involves 3 hours of classroom training.

Further training topics include operations basics (3 hours classroom, 2 hours on-the-job), pricing (1 hour classroom), front of house operations (12 hours classroom, 12 hours on-the-job), back of house operations (12 hours classroom, 12 hours on-the-job), frequently asked questions (3 hours classroom), and client satisfaction (2 hours classroom). The training takes place either at Frisco, TX, or at the franchisee's location.

Up to three people can attend the training without incurring a fee, but the franchisee is responsible for covering the travel and living expenses for their employees or managers who attend. Franchisees must attend the training and may send additional people if desired, up to the maximum number allowed. The training must be completed to Desi District's satisfaction at least four weeks before the business opens, and a test is required to evaluate understanding of the content. Failure to pass the test or complete the initial training may result in termination of the franchise agreement without a refund of the initial franchise fee.

The business must be supervised on-site by the franchisee or a general manager who has completed the training program. If a new general manager needs training, Desi District charges a fee, which is currently $350 per day. While additional training programs or refresher courses are not currently required, Desi District reserves the right to implement them in the future.
