What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must display specific signage at their business locations. The franchisee is required to identify themselves as the independent owner of the Desi District business in a manner that the franchisor prescribes. This includes displaying signage that identifies the location as an independently owned franchise, with the specific design and content dictated by Desi District Franchise Group.

This requirement ensures that customers are aware that the Desi District location is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, which can impact customer perceptions and expectations. It also allows Desi District to maintain brand consistency across all franchise locations, as the franchisor controls the signage displayed.

Furthermore, franchisees are responsible for maintaining and repairing the signage, including replacing any obsolete or worn-out signs. If a franchisee terminates their agreement, they are obligated to remove all Desi District signage and branding from the location within 30 days of termination or expiration, at their own expense. Failure to do so allows Desi District to enter the location and remove the signage themselves, without being held liable for trespass or damages.
