What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the required specifications and standards outlined in the franchise agreement and System Standards are in place to protect Desi District's interest in the System and the Marks, as well as the goodwill established within them. These standards are not intended to establish control over the franchisee's business operations.

The System Standards encompass a wide array of aspects, including appearance, business metrics, cleanliness, customer service, design (such as construction, decoration, layout, furniture, fixtures, and signs), equipment, inventory, marketing and public relations, operating days, operating hours, presentation of Marks, product and service offerings, quality of products and services, reporting, safety, and technology. Technology includes computers, computer peripheral equipment, smartphones, point-of-sale systems, back-office systems, information management systems, security systems, video monitors, other software, backup and archiving systems, communications systems (including email, audio, and video systems), payment acceptance systems, and internet access, as well as upgrades, supplements, and modifications.

For a prospective franchisee, this means adhering to these standards is crucial for maintaining brand consistency and quality across all Desi District franchise locations. While franchisees maintain independence in their day-to-day operations, they must comply with the System Standards to ensure the protection of the brand's reputation and goodwill. Franchisees should be aware that Desi District may modify these standards, and franchisees are responsible for complying with these changes at their own expense.
