What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must offer all, and only, the products and services that Desi District prescribes in the Manual or otherwise in writing. This means Desi District maintains control over the specific offerings at each franchise location. Franchisees are restricted to selling only to retail customers at the approved location, unless Desi District provides written approval for alternative sales methods.

This requirement ensures brand consistency across all Desi District franchise locations, as the franchisor dictates the products and services offered. For a prospective franchisee, this means they will have limited autonomy in deciding what to sell. They must adhere to the offerings specified by Desi District.

Furthermore, Desi District has the right to mandate specific pricing for products and services during promotional periods on a national, regional, or local level, as long as it's permitted by law. This pricing control, combined with the product and service restrictions, gives Desi District significant influence over the franchisee's revenue streams and marketing strategies. Franchisees need to be aware that their ability to adapt their offerings to local market demands may be limited by these controls.
