Who owns the customer data generated by the Desi District Business?

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, all customer data and other non-public data generated by the Desi District business is considered confidential information and is exclusively owned by Desi District Franchise Group. However, Desi District Franchise Group licenses this data back to the franchisee without charge. This license allows the franchisee to use the data solely in connection with their Desi District business for the duration of the Franchise Agreement.

This arrangement means that while franchisees collect valuable customer information through their daily operations, they do not have full ownership rights over it. Desi District retains ultimate control and can utilize the data for broader strategic purposes, such as marketing campaigns, product development, or system-wide improvements.
