What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Desi District Franchise Group has the option to manage social media accounts for the entire Desi District system. However, they are not obligated to do so. Alternatively, Desi District may allow individual franchisees to operate their own social media accounts. Franchisees must adhere to any System Standards and social media policies set by Desi District Franchise Group. Franchisees are required to implement any marketing plans or campaigns determined by Desi District Franchise Group.

Desi District Franchise Group also has the right to utilize any marketing materials or campaigns developed by or for the franchisee. The franchisee grants Desi District Franchise Group an unlimited, perpetual, royalty-free license for such use. This means that marketing efforts created by a franchisee can be used by Desi District across the entire franchise system without additional compensation to the franchisee.

This policy gives Desi District significant control over the brand's online presence and marketing strategies. For a prospective franchisee, this means they must get approval for all marketing and advertising activities, including social media. While franchisees may have the opportunity to manage their own social media, they must comply with Desi District's standards and policies. The franchisor's ability to use franchisee-developed marketing materials also highlights the importance of creating high-quality, effective campaigns, as these could be adopted system-wide.
