What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the non-compliance fee is not considered a penalty. Desi District may charge a franchisee $500 for any instance of non-compliance with the System Standards or the Franchise Agreement, provided the franchisee fails to correct the issue after receiving 30 days' notice.

After this initial fee, Desi District may then charge the franchisee $250 per week until the non-compliance is resolved. The FDD states that these fees are a reasonable estimate of Desi District's internal personnel costs associated with addressing the non-compliance.

It's important to note that this non-compliance fee is separate from, and in addition to, any other rights and remedies Desi District has, including default and termination rights under the agreement. This means that franchisees could face both monetary penalties and further actions for failing to adhere to the franchise agreement and system standards.
