What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, when Desi District Franchise Group accepts a proposed location, they issue a 'Location Acceptance Letter.' This letter, as stated in Section 6.1 of the franchise agreement, formally acknowledges the approval of the franchisee's chosen site and specifies both the location and the territory granted to the franchisee.
For a prospective Desi District franchisee, this Location Acceptance Letter is a critical document. It signifies that the franchisor has given the green light to the chosen site, which is a major step towards opening the franchise. The letter also defines the franchisee's territory, which determines the area where they will have certain protections against direct competition from other Desi District outlets.
The FDD specifies that if Desi District does not provide written acceptance of the proposed location within 30 days, the location is deemed rejected. This highlights the importance of clear and timely communication during the site selection process. Franchisees should ensure they understand the criteria Desi District uses for location approval and provide all necessary information to facilitate a prompt decision.
The Location Acceptance Letter is in the form of Attachment 2 of the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees should carefully review this attachment to fully understand their rights and obligations regarding the location and territory of their Desi District franchise.
