What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain Business Automobile Liability insurance. This insurance must include coverage for owned, leased, non-owned, and hired automobiles. The minimum coverage amount required is $1,000,000.
This requirement ensures that the Desi District franchisee has adequate financial protection in case of an accident involving a vehicle used for the business. This coverage can protect the franchisee from significant financial losses due to liability claims arising from vehicle-related incidents.
In addition to the minimum coverage amount, the franchisee's insurance policies (excluding Workers Compensation) must list Desi District Franchise Group and its affiliates as additional insured parties. The policies must also include a waiver of subrogation in favor of Desi District and its affiliates, be primary and non-contributing with any insurance carried by Desi District or its affiliates, and stipulate that Desi District receive 30 days' prior written notice of cancellation. Franchisees must provide Certificates of Insurance to Desi District before opening and upon annual renewal of the insurance coverage, as well as at any time upon request.
