What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Desi District FDD, the initial training program includes both classroom and on-the-job training. The classroom training consists of 3 hours dedicated to Desi District's culture, history, and basic setup, 3 hours on operations basics, 1 hour on pricing, 12 hours on front-of-house operations, 12 hours on back-of-house operations, 3 hours on frequently asked questions, and 2 hours on client satisfaction. The on-the-job training includes 2 hours on operations basics, 12 hours on front-of-house operations, and 12 hours on back-of-house operations. There is also 1 hour of training for opening the location. All training takes place in Frisco, TX, or at the franchisee's location.
In total, the classroom training adds up to 36 hours, and the on-the-job training totals 26 hours. The FDD does not specify the number of days this training will take.
Prospective franchisees should note that they must complete training to Desi District's satisfaction at least four weeks before opening their business and must pass a test evaluating their understanding of the training content. If a franchisee fails to pass the test or complete the initial training, Desi District has the right to terminate the franchise agreement with no refund of the initial franchise fee. Franchisees must attend training, and up to three people can attend without incurring a fee, though travel and living expenses are the franchisee's responsibility. If a new general manager needs training, there is a fee of $350 per day.
