Us or our Affiliates as Supplier
Our affiliate, TAR Distributors, Inc. is currently a supplier of merchandise, apparel, food product and goods that you must purchase, and we reserve the right to be a supplier (or the sole supplier) of goods or services in the future.
Ownership of Suppliers
Outside of your requirement to purchase some of the food product and retail items from our Affiliate, none of our officers own any interest in a supplier to our franchisees.
Alternative Suppliers
If you want to use a supplier that is not on our list of approved suppliers, you must request our approval in writing. We will grant or revoke approvals of suppliers based on criteria appropriate to the situation, which may include evaluations of the supplier's capacity, quality, financial stability, reputation, and reliability; inspections; product testing, and performance reviews. Our criteria for approving suppliers are not available to you. We permit you to contract with alternative suppliers who meet our criteria only if you request our approval in writing, and we grant approval. There is no fee for us to review or approve an alternate supplier. We will provide you with written notification of the approval or disapproval of any supplier you propose within 30 days after receipt of your request. We may grant approvals of new suppliers or revoke past approvals of suppliers on written notice to you, or by updating our Manual.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase furniture, fixtures, and equipment that meet specific standards. Specifically, franchisees must purchase these items from approved vendors and according to Desi District's standards and specifications. This ensures uniformity and quality across all Desi District locations.
Desi District maintains control over brand standards by issuing specifications in their Manual and/or written directives, which they can modify at any time. These changes can be communicated through revisions to the manual or new written directives. While Desi District generally tests new or revised specifications in headquarters, company-owned outlets, or limited market tests, they are not obligated to do so.
If a franchisee wishes to use a supplier not already approved, they must request written approval from Desi District. The approval process considers factors such as the supplier's capacity, quality, financial stability, and reputation. Desi District will provide written notification of approval or disapproval within 30 days of the request.
Overall, these requirements ensure that Desi District maintains consistent quality and brand image across all franchise locations. While this limits a franchisee's choice of suppliers, it also provides a level of assurance that the selected vendors meet the brand's standards. Franchisees should carefully review the Brand Standards/Operations Manual for detailed specifications and approved vendor lists.
