What This Means (2024 FDD)

Based on the 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the ability of a Desi District franchisee to sell branded merchandise is not explicitly detailed. However, the FDD does state that Desi District manages the brand and approves all marketing materials. This suggests that while franchisees may not be explicitly prohibited from selling branded merchandise, any such sales would require approval from Desi District.

Furthermore, the agreement specifies that franchisees must participate in customer loyalty programs and incentive programs designated by Desi District. This could potentially include the sale of branded merchandise as part of these programs, but again, it would be under the direction and control of the franchisor. The franchisee is obligated to comply with all procedures and specifications related to these programs.

Therefore, a prospective Desi District franchisee should clarify with the franchisor during their due diligence whether they are allowed to sell branded merchandise, what types of merchandise are permitted, and what the approval process entails. Understanding these details is crucial for planning inventory and marketing strategies.
