What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are solely responsible for all hiring decisions and conditions of employment at their franchise. While Desi District provides suggested staffing levels and guidelines for hiring employees, the ultimate responsibility for these decisions rests with the franchisee.
This means that the franchisee has the autonomy to select, manage, and determine the terms of employment for their staff. This includes setting wages, benefits, and work schedules, as well as handling any employee-related issues that may arise. Franchisees should be aware of all applicable labor laws and regulations in their area and ensure that they are in compliance with these laws.
While Desi District offers operational instructions in the Brand Standards Manual that franchisees can use as part of training new employees, this does not diminish the franchisee's responsibility for employment decisions. The franchisor's role is to provide guidance and support, but the franchisee is the employer and is ultimately accountable for creating a positive and compliant work environment. This level of control allows the franchisee to tailor their staffing to the specific needs of their location and business strategy.
