What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must offer all products and services that Desi District prescribes in the Manual or in writing. However, franchisees can only offer those specific products and services. Desi District also dictates that sales are only to be made to retail customers at the physical location, unless the franchisor approves or requires otherwise. This means a franchisee's offerings are strictly controlled by Desi District.
In addition to controlling the products and services offered, Desi District has the power to set specific prices for these offerings during promotional periods on a national, regional, or local level, as long as it's permitted by law. This pricing control ensures consistency across the brand and allows Desi District to manage market-wide promotions effectively.
These stipulations mean that a Desi District franchisee has limited autonomy over their offerings and pricing. While this can provide a structured business model, it also means franchisees must adhere to the franchisor's decisions regarding products, services, and pricing strategies. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider whether this level of control aligns with their entrepreneurial goals.
