What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to execute documents to confirm Desi District Franchise Group's ownership of innovations. Specifically, the FDD states that Desi District will automatically own all ideas, plans, improvements, concepts, methods, and techniques related to the business, referred to as "Innovations," conceived or developed by the franchisee, its employees, agents, or contractors.

This means that any new ideas or improvements a franchisee comes up with related to the Desi District business become the property of the franchisor. Desi District has the right to use and incorporate these innovations into their system without providing any compensation to the franchisee.

To ensure Desi District's ownership is properly documented, the franchisee must sign any documents that Desi District reasonably requests. This requirement protects Desi District's intellectual property and ensures they can freely use and implement new ideas across the franchise system. Franchisees should be aware of this clause and understand that any innovations they develop will belong to Desi District.
