What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must first obtain Desi District's approval of their plans before starting any construction or remodeling work. This requirement ensures that the franchisee adheres to the franchisor's System Standards during the construction or remodeling process.

This stipulation is significant for prospective franchisees as it means they cannot proceed independently with construction or remodeling. They must submit their plans to Desi District for approval, adding a step to the process and potentially impacting timelines. While Desi District may inspect the construction or remodeling progress, they are not obligated to do so.

Furthermore, the FDD clarifies that Desi District's advice or acceptance of a site does not guarantee the business's success, and Desi District assumes no liability regarding the location. Franchisees are also cautioned against relying on any information or opinions from Desi District or its representatives concerning architectural, engineering, or legal matters during development and construction, emphasizing the franchisee's responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
