What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are permitted to make sales only to retail customers and exclusively at the approved location. This means that the primary business model for Desi District is focused on direct sales to individual consumers who visit the physical restaurant location.
Desi District strictly limits sales channels, prohibiting franchisees from engaging in wholesale activities, delivery services, mail order sales, internet sales, or operating temporary or satellite locations unless explicitly approved or required by Desi District Franchise Group. This restriction ensures that the brand maintains control over the customer experience and sales methods, which is typical in franchise systems to maintain consistency.
This policy has significant implications for a prospective franchisee. It limits the potential revenue streams to walk-in customers at the designated location. Franchisees need to be aware of these restrictions and factor them into their business plan and financial projections. Any deviation from these sales methods requires prior approval from Desi District, highlighting the importance of adhering to the franchisor's operational guidelines.
