Is Desi District Franchise Group required to provide advice to franchisees?

- (a) Advice, Consulting, and Support. If Franchisee requests, Desi District Franchise Group will provide advice to Franchisee (by telephone or electronic communication) regarding improving and developing Franchisee's business, and resolving operating problems Franchisee encounters, to the extent Desi District Franchise Group deems reasonable. If Desi District Franchise Group provides in-person support in response to Franchisee's request, Desi District Franchise Group may charge its then-current fee plus any out-of-pocket expenses (such as travel, lodging, and meals for employees providing onsite support).
- (b) Pricing. Upon request, Desi District Franchise Group will provide recommended prices for products and services offered by franchisees of the System.
- (c) Procedures. Desi District Franchise Group will provide Franchisee with Desi District Franchise Group's recommended administrative, bookkeeping, accounting, and inventory control procedures. Desi District Franchise Group may make any such procedures part of required (and not merely recommended) System Standards.
- (d) Marketing. Desi District Franchise Group shall manage the brand and will approve all marketing materials and marketing incorporating the Desi District brand.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Desi District Franchise Group is required to provide advice to franchisees under certain conditions. Specifically, if a franchisee requests advice to improve their business or resolve operational issues, Desi District Franchise Group will provide advice via telephone or electronic communication, to the extent they deem reasonable.
However, this obligation is not absolute. Desi District Franchise Group has discretion over the extent and method of advice provided. If in-person support is requested and provided, Desi District Franchise Group may charge a fee plus out-of-pocket expenses for the support.
In addition to advice, Desi District Franchise Group will provide recommended prices for products and services upon request, as well as recommended administrative, bookkeeping, accounting, and inventory control procedures. These procedures may become required System Standards at Desi District Franchise Group's discretion. Desi District Franchise Group also manages the brand and approves all marketing materials incorporating the Desi District brand.
