What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are indeed restricted to offering only those products and services that Desi District prescribes in its manual or in writing. Specifically, franchisees must offer all, and only, the products and services that Desi District approves.
This restriction extends to the methods of sale as well. Franchisees are only permitted to make sales to retail customers at the approved location. Any deviation from this, such as wholesale, delivery, mail order, internet sales, or sales from temporary locations, is prohibited unless specifically approved or required by Desi District.
This tight control over product offerings and sales methods allows Desi District to maintain brand consistency and quality control across all franchise locations. It ensures that customers receive a uniform experience regardless of the specific franchise they visit. However, it also means that franchisees have limited autonomy in deciding what to sell or how to sell it, potentially restricting their ability to cater to local market demands or innovate with new offerings. Franchisees must adhere to Desi District's prescribed products, services, and sales methods to maintain compliance with the franchise agreement.
