Answer from 2024 FDD Document

You do not have the right to relocate your business, and we have no obligation to approve any request for relocation. Our policy is to approve relocation of a franchisee's business on caseby-case basis, considering factors such as changes in demographics, profitability of your current business, or a loss of your premises due to circumstances beyond your control.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees do not have the right to relocate their business, and Desi District has no obligation to approve any relocation request. However, Desi District's policy is to consider relocation requests on a case-by-case basis.

Desi District will consider factors such as changes in demographics, the profitability of the franchisee's current business, or the loss of the premises due to circumstances beyond the franchisee's control. This means that if the area around the current location has changed significantly, making it less suitable for the business, Desi District might consider a move. Similarly, if the business is not performing well financially, relocation could be an option. Finally, if the current location is no longer available due to unforeseen circumstances like a natural disaster or landlord issues, Desi District may consider relocation.

This policy provides some flexibility for franchisees facing challenging situations, but it's important to note that approval is not guaranteed. Franchisees should carefully document any factors that support their relocation request and be prepared to present a strong case to Desi District. It is also important to note that the franchisee bears the responsibility of proving that one or more of these factors are present and impacting their business.
