What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Desi District will provide programs, to the extent it deems appropriate, for franchisees to conduct training of new employees. However, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for all aspects of their employees' employment, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, compensation, and termination. Desi District may also set minimum qualifications for categories of employees.
Desi District may require the Principal Executive and/or any other employees to complete training programs at any time, in any format, and in any location determined by Desi District. The franchisee is responsible for all travel, living, and other expenses associated with this training. Desi District may charge a reasonable fee for these training programs. Franchisees must ensure their business is under the on-site supervision of the Principal Executive or a general manager who has completed Desi District's training program.
Prior to opening, the franchisee's Principal Executive and one additional chef or general manager must complete Desi District's training program to Desi District's satisfaction at least four weeks before opening the Business. Desi District also makes available its standard pre-opening training to the Principal Executive and up to two additional team members, at Desi District's headquarters and/or at a Desi District business designated by Desi District. Desi District does not charge any fee for this training, but the franchisee is responsible for their own travel, lodging, meal, and other out-of-pocket expenses.
After opening, if a franchisee sends an employee to Desi District's training program, Desi District may charge its then-current training fee. As of the date of the Franchise Agreement, the training fee is $350 per day. Franchisees must also ensure their personnel render competent and courteous service to all customers and members of the public and comply with any dress attire, uniform, personal appearance, and hygiene standards set forth in the Manual.
