Are affidavits currently required for the Desi District trademark registrations?
Desi_District Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
Because the federal trademark registration is less than six years old, no affidavits are required at this time. The registration has not yet been renewed, but we intend to do so at the time they are legally required.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Desi District's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, affidavits for the federal trademark registrations are not currently required. Because the federal trademark registration is less than six years old, no affidavits are required at this time. Desi District intends to renew the registration when legally required.
This means that as of the FDD date, franchisees do not need to worry about any immediate affidavit requirements related to the trademarks. However, it's important for prospective franchisees to understand that trademark registrations need to be maintained, and Desi District is responsible for handling these renewals.
It is a standard practice for franchisors to maintain their trademarks, as these are a crucial part of the brand identity that franchisees are licensing. Franchisees benefit from a strong, protected trademark, as it helps to ensure brand recognition and prevents others from using similar marks that could confuse customers. Therefore, it is in the best interest of both Desi District and its franchisees to keep the trademarks active and in good standing.
