Who is responsible for the expenses related to site preparation, construction, furnishing, remodeling, decorating, and equipping of a Dermani Medspa location?

According to Dermani Medspa's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for all expenses related to site preparation, construction, furnishing, remodeling, decorating, and equipping their Dermani Medspa location. Dermani Medspa will provide mandatory and suggested specifications and layouts for the premises, including color schemes, furniture, medical equipment, and a planogram for a typical layout. They may also provide additional materials such as templates for contract bids and sample development checklists.

The franchisee must engage the services of a designer or architect to develop plans specific to the premises. The franchisee is also responsible for obtaining a site plan and any modifications to Dermani Medspa's basic architectural plans and/or specifications for the Medspa, including requirements for dimensions, exterior design, materials, interior layout, equipment, fixtures, furniture, signs, and décor, consistent with applicable ordinances, building codes, and permit requirements.

Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for obtaining all required zoning changes, building, driveway, utility, health, sanitation, and sign permits, and maintaining these permits at all times. They must also arrange for the installation and delivery of equipment, fixtures, furniture, and signs, and complete the construction and/or remodeling, equipment, fixture, furniture and sign installation and decorating of the Medspa in full and strict compliance with plans and specifications approved by Dermani Medspa and all applicable ordinances, building codes and permit requirements. Dermani Medspa has the right to inspect the Franchised Business while it is being constructed and/or remodeled, and the franchisee shall not open the Medspa for business until they have received authorization to do so.
