Does Dermani Medspa own any patents material to the operation of a franchised business?

According to Dermani Medspa's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dermani Medspa does not own any patents that are material to the operation of a franchised business or the management of a Dermani Medspa. This means that franchisees will not be relying on any patented technology or processes that are owned by the franchisor in order to operate their business.

However, Dermani Medspa does claim copyright protection over various materials used in their business, including the trade dress, custom interiors, manuals, and advertising materials. While these materials have not been registered with the United States Registrar of Copyrights, Dermani Medspa may choose to register them in the future. Franchisees are required to use these copyrighted materials in their business and must discontinue or modify their use if required by Dermani Medspa.

Franchisees should be aware that Dermani Medspa's master copy of the manuals, maintained at their home office, will be controlling in case of any dispute regarding the contents of the manuals. Franchisees are also obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the manuals and other confidential information related to the operation of the Dermani Medspa franchise. This includes any information gathered through the POS system and/or computer system. Franchisees may be required to sign non-disclosure and non-competition covenants to protect this confidential information.
