What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Dermani Medspa's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Dermani Medspa has the right to establish preferred vendor programs and may limit the number of approved suppliers or vendors with whom a franchisee may deal. Dermani Medspa can designate sources that franchisees must use for some or all products or services. Dermani Medspa may also refuse a franchisee's requests if they believe it is in the best interest of the Dermani Medspa system. Dermani Medspa has unlimited rights to approve or disapprove suppliers or vendors and can revoke previous approvals at their sole discretion.
This means that as a Dermani Medspa franchisee, you may be required to purchase certain products, services, or equipment from specific suppliers chosen by the franchisor. This could impact your costs and potentially limit your ability to negotiate better deals with alternative vendors. However, Dermani Medspa states these actions are intended to benefit the entire franchise system.
Dermani Medspa also has the right to collect and retain all allowances offered by suppliers or vendors based on a franchisee's purchases of products or services. These allowances may be based on system-wide purchases. This implies that while franchisees are required to purchase from approved vendors, any discounts or rebates negotiated by Dermani Medspa based on the collective purchasing power of the franchise network will be retained by Dermani Medspa, not passed on to the individual franchisee. Franchisees should inquire about how these allowances are used to benefit the system as a whole.
As a prospective franchisee, it is important to understand the implications of these purchasing restrictions. You should discuss with Dermani Medspa the criteria for vendor approval, the process for requesting approval of alternative vendors, and the potential impact on your profit margins. Understanding these policies will help you assess the financial viability of the franchise and your ability to control costs.
