- (6) Provide hotel staff with on-site training or training tools necessary for operating system hotels (Franchise Agreement – Section 9).
New-to-Marriott franchisee executives must attend Executive Orientation at least 12 months prior to the hotel's opening date, or within six months of transaction on an existing hotel. You must pay our then-current fee for Executive Orientation, presently $795 per person. General managers and at least one sales executive must attend a Brand Orientation, which is provided at no additional charge.
If you desire to operate a hotel but we determine that you are not qualified to operate a system hotel without additional training, you must participate in the Franchisee Introduction to Marriott program ("FITM") for new-build hotels or the FITM-R program for existing Company Brand Hotels. FITM and FITM-R include executive level in-person meetings and self-paced, web-based training on the use of Marriott programs, systems, and services. You must pay our then-current enrollment fee, presently $40,000 for FITM and $60,000 for FITM-R. Alternately, if we determine that you are qualified to operate a hotel, but are unfamiliar with the system, we may require you to participate in the Franchisee OnBoarding for New Development program ("FOND") for new build-hotels or the Above-Property Immersion ("API") program for existing Company Brand Hotels, through which we provide additional self-paced, web-based training on the use of Marriott programs, systems, and services. You must pay our then-current enrollment fee, presently $20,000 for FOND and API.
- (5) Offer certain training programs for the hotel's or your management personnel (Franchise Agreement – Section 9.1). We may charge tuition, fees, or reimbursements for some or all of these training programs (Franchise Agreement – Sections 3.3 and 9.1).

Delta Hotels By Marriott also offers certain training programs for the hotel's or the franchisee's management personnel during the operation of the franchised business.

Alternatively, if Delta Hotels By Marriott determines a franchisee is qualified but unfamiliar with the system, they may require participation in the Franchisee OnBoarding for New Development program (FOND) for new build-hotels or the Above-Property Immersion (API) program for existing Company Brand Hotels, with enrollment fees of $20,000. These programs include web-based training on Marriott programs, systems, and services. Franchisees should budget for travel, meals, and lodging expenses to complete training programs that are not conducted on site.
Franchisees participating in FITM, FOND, FITM-R, or API must also undergo a nonaccountable brand standard audit and participate in various programs like Revenue Management Advisory Services and Digital Marketing for two years, incurring additional costs. Failure to complete these programs within the specified timeframe may result in additional fees, the requirement to retain a third-party management company, or other corrective actions.
