According to the 2025 Del Taco Franchise Disclosure Document, maintaining high operating standards is crucial for several reasons. Del Taco emphasizes that every detail of the restaurant is important for the franchisee, Del Taco itself, and other franchisees within the system. This collective effort is aimed at developing and maintaining high operating standards, which in turn increases the demand for the products sold by all franchisees. Ultimately, these standards are designed to protect Del Taco's reputation and goodwill. Franchisees are obligated to construct, furnish, and open their restaurants according to specific requirements to meet these standards.

Del Taco also requires franchisees to meet and maintain the highest health standards and ratings applicable to their restaurant's operation. Franchisees must provide Del Taco with copies of all inspection reports, warnings, citations, certificates, and ratings from any relevant federal, state, or municipal agencies. Furthermore, franchisees and their personnel must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certificates for food service and handling, as required by local rules and regulations or the Del Taco manual. This ensures compliance with health and safety standards, protecting both customers and the brand's reputation.

Del Taco also has the right to specify or require certain brands, types, makes, and models of communications, computer systems, kitchen display systems, and hardware to be used by the restaurants. This includes back-office and point-of-sale systems, computer hardware and software, and other technology-related equipment. By adhering to these standards, franchisees contribute to the overall success and consistency of the Del Taco brand, which benefits all franchisees within the system.
