What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Del Taco Franchise Disclosure Document, Del Taco retains the right to designate, specify, and/or approve the manufacturer and/or supplier of all signs used or installed at the Restaurant. This gives Del Taco control over the branding and image presented to the public.
For a prospective franchisee, this means you must use the sign manufacturer that Del Taco approves. You cannot choose your own vendor for signs. This ensures uniformity across all Del Taco locations, maintaining brand consistency.
This requirement is typical in franchising, as franchisors want to protect their brand identity. While it limits the franchisee's autonomy, it also ensures that the signs meet Del Taco's standards and contribute to a consistent brand image. Franchisees should confirm with Del Taco the approved sign manufacturers and obtain pricing information during their due diligence.
