Franchisee agrees to maintain a competent, conscientious, trained staff in numbers sufficient to promptly service customers, including at least one (1) Shift Manager on duty at all times and to take such steps as are necessary to ensure that its employees preserve good customer relations and comply with such dress code as Del Taco may prescribe.

According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must have at least one Shift Manager on duty at all times.
In addition to the requirement of having a Shift Manager present, franchisees must also maintain a competent, conscientious, and trained staff sufficient to promptly serve customers. Franchisees are responsible for ensuring their employees maintain good customer relations and comply with any dress codes Del Taco prescribes.
Del Taco franchisees must also have a total of nine Shift Managers trained and certified by Del Taco for the restaurant. The franchisee has sole authority regarding employment matters, including hiring, firing, and scheduling. The franchisee is also responsible for ensuring managers and employees are adequately trained and supervised.
