What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to furnish Del Taco with evidence of insurance coverage. This evidence must be satisfactory to Del Taco and provided in the form of Certificates of Insurance and any insurance policy endorsements required by Del Taco.

Specifically, franchisees must provide these documents prior to the opening of their restaurant and throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement. In addition to the certificates and endorsements, a Del Taco franchisee must also provide a copy of their insurance policies if requested by Del Taco.

This requirement ensures that Del Taco can verify that franchisees maintain the necessary insurance coverage as mandated by the franchise agreement. It also allows Del Taco to assess the terms and conditions of the policies to confirm they meet the brand's standards and protect the interests of both the franchisee and Del Taco. Franchisees should maintain organized records of their insurance policies and be prepared to provide copies promptly upon request to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement.
