What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Del Taco requires participation in a gift card program, the franchisee must purchase the necessary software, hardware, blank cards, and other items to sell and process gift cards or stored value cards. These specifications are detailed in the Manuals or in writing from Del Taco. The franchisee is also responsible for paying monthly and per-swipe transaction fees to the gift card system vendor.
Del Taco franchisees must use computer-based point-of-sale (POS) devices that are fully compatible with any program or system that Del Taco designates. All net sales and revenue information must be recorded on this equipment. The POS system is considered part of the franchisee's Technology System, which must be maintained in good repair.
Del Taco has the right to specify certain brands, types, makes, and models of computer systems and hardware to be used by restaurants, including back-office and point-of-sale systems. Franchisees are obligated to install and use the Technology System and Required Software as Del Taco requires and to implement periodic upgrades and changes as requested in writing. This ensures operational efficiency and communication between equipment and computer systems installed by the franchisee, Del Taco, and other franchisees.
