Settlement Process.** Once each fiscal week, BAMS will generate a settlement of gift card transactions.

BAMS will compute the amount due from each Franchisee, as applicable, for the gift card sales for the fiscal week, and will compute that amount due to each Franchisee as applicable, for gift card redemptions for the fiscal week.

The net settlement for each Franchisee, as applicable, will be an ACH credit or debit for all card sales and redemptions for the specified fiscal week.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, BAMS (Banc of America Merchant Services) will generate a settlement of gift card transactions once each fiscal week. This settlement process involves BAMS computing the amount due from each franchisee for gift card sales during that fiscal week, as well as the amount due to each franchisee for gift card redemptions during the same period.

The net settlement for each Del Taco franchisee will be an Automated Clearing House (ACH) credit or debit, reflecting all card sales and redemptions for the specified fiscal week. This means that franchisees will either have funds deposited into their account (credit) if redemptions exceed sales, or funds withdrawn from their account (debit) if sales exceed redemptions.

It is important for prospective Del Taco franchisees to ensure that their designated bank accounts are adequately funded to cover any potential ACH debits for settlement fees owed to BAMS. If an ACH debit transaction is dishonored due to insufficient funds or any other reason, BAMS will notify Del Taco and initiate follow-up ACH transactions, which may include a $20 penalty per returned item, adding an extra financial burden.
