What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have the option to purchase computer-related hardware and equipment directly from approved or designated vendors. Alternatively, a franchisee can elect to purchase these items through Del Taco. In this case, Del Taco will purchase the hardware or equipment from approved third-party vendors on behalf of the franchisee and then resell it to the franchisee without any markup.

After the Del Taco restaurant opens, the actual purchase price of the hardware or equipment is reconciled. The franchisee is then responsible for reimbursing Del Taco for the amount of the purchase price. This arrangement provides franchisees with flexibility in how they acquire necessary computer-related hardware and equipment, allowing them to leverage Del Taco's relationships with approved vendors if they choose.

The initial investment for IT equipment and installation, including computer-related services and licensing, is estimated to range from $59,000 to $100,000. This estimate includes the purchase or lease of point-of-sale equipment, ancillary small computer hardware, and software items. Franchisees are also required to purchase and install point-of-sale and back-office equipment and software from vendors that Del Taco designates or approves before opening their restaurant.
