What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to Del Taco's requirements and policies, as outlined in the manuals or other written communications, regarding all email transmissions related to the restaurant and business. This also extends to any online presence or dissemination of information concerning the restaurant, including activities on internet blogs or social networking sites.
Any activities not explicitly permitted in the manuals or in writing, or those lacking prior approval from Del Taco, are subject to Del Taco's approval. Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from transmitting or causing others to transmit advertisements or solicitations via telephone, text, email, or other electronic media without Del Taco's prior written consent. This consent must cover both the content of the advertisements or solicitations and the franchisee's plan for transmitting them.
In practical terms, a prospective Del Taco franchisee needs to be aware that their online and electronic communications related to the franchise are subject to strict oversight and control by Del Taco. They must familiarize themselves with the guidelines in the Del Taco manuals and obtain written approval for any marketing or promotional activities conducted through these channels. Failure to comply with these requirements could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
