What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee has already obtained a location upon execution of the franchise agreement, they must open the restaurant within 180 days from the Effective Date of the agreement. The Effective Date is the date the Franchise Agreement was entered into by Del Taco and the franchisee.
This requirement ensures that franchisees promptly develop and begin operating their Del Taco restaurants, maintaining brand consistency and capitalizing on market opportunities. Failing to meet this deadline could lead to a default under the Franchise Agreement, potentially allowing Del Taco to terminate the agreement.
Prospective franchisees should carefully consider this timeframe and ensure they have a realistic plan for site development, construction, and pre-opening preparations. This includes securing necessary permits, completing construction to Del Taco's standards, and ensuring staff are adequately trained. Meeting this deadline is crucial for a successful launch and ongoing operation of the Del Taco franchise.
