What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Del Taco's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, in connection with Del Taco's consent to the location, the franchisee must execute, and cause the landlord to execute, the Addendum to Lease, which is included as Exhibit G to the Franchise Agreement.
Prior to signing a lease, the franchisee must submit a final draft of the lease for the Restaurant premises to Del Taco, and the lease must contain the provisions outlined in Exhibit G (Addendum to Lease). Within 15 days of executing the lease, the franchisee must provide Del Taco with copies of the fully-executed lease and the executed Addendum to Lease, along with the landlord's and property management company's contact information.
This requirement ensures that Del Taco has certain protections and rights related to the leased property. The Addendum to Lease likely covers important aspects such as signage, access for maintenance, and other operational considerations that impact Del Taco's brand and standards. Franchisees should carefully review Exhibit G and understand its implications before signing the lease and ensuring the landlord is willing to agree to its terms. Failing to comply with these leasing requirements could delay the restaurant opening.
