What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Degree Wellness has the right to require a franchisee to select a new General Manager under specific circumstances related to the General Manager's qualifications.
Specifically, if Degree Wellness determines, in its sole discretion, that the General Manager is not qualified to act in that capacity, either during or after the completion of the initial training program, Degree Wellness can mandate that the franchisee choose a new individual for the position, subject to Degree Wellness's approval. This provision underscores Degree Wellness's control over the quality and standards of its franchise operations, ensuring that individuals in key management roles meet their criteria.
This condition has significant implications for prospective Degree Wellness franchisees. It highlights the importance of selecting a General Manager who not only meets the franchisee's standards but also aligns with Degree Wellness's expectations and training requirements. If a franchisee's initial choice does not meet Degree Wellness's approval, the franchisee will incur the cost and effort of finding and training a replacement, potentially disrupting the franchise's operations. Therefore, franchisees should carefully vet potential General Managers and ensure they are likely to succeed in Degree Wellness's training program.
