Degree Wellness's initial training program is divided into two components: Business Training and Studio Opening Training. Franchisees are eligible to attend Business Training after signing a lease, typically 90 to 120 days before their anticipated opening. Completion of the Business Training is mandatory, and Degree Wellness recommends that a General Manager attend as well, if one is hired. The business-related initial training program is held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but Degree Wellness reserves the right to designate another training facility. The franchisee is responsible for travel and lodging expenses related to attending the training.

For an unlicensed franchisee, the training will focus on business operations, retail, and back-office functions, avoiding any training that could be considered the practice of medicine. Degree Wellness may also implement online training to supplement or cover certain business-related subjects currently included in classroom training sessions. This ensures franchisees are well-versed in the legal and regulatory aspects of managing a Degree Wellness studio.
