What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for covering the costs associated with attending the annual conference. Specifically, the franchisee must cover the wages, travel, lodging, and living expenses for themselves and any of their staff or other attendees. Degree Wellness requires franchisees to attend this annual conference, and if a third-party professional corporation services the Studio's patients, each provider of that corporation must also attend.

This means that as a Degree Wellness franchisee, you must budget not only for your own travel and accommodation to the annual conference, but also for your employees' expenses. These costs can vary significantly depending on the location of the conference and the number of staff members you bring. It is important to factor in these mandatory expenses when assessing the overall financial viability of the franchise.

This requirement is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisors often mandate training and conferences to ensure brand consistency and continued education. However, the financial burden on the franchisee can be substantial, especially for those with larger staffs or franchises located far from the conference venue. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the typical location and duration of the annual conference to estimate these ongoing costs accurately.
