What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Management Company is responsible for acquiring all fixtures, equipment, and furnishings necessary for the operation of a Degree Wellness Studio. This includes both the operation of the Management Business and the Studio itself.
This means that as a Degree Wellness franchisee, the Management Company is responsible for the initial investment in these items. This responsibility extends to maintaining, repairing, and replacing these items as needed throughout the term of the agreement. The Licensed Provider is granted a license to use these items within the premises during the agreement term.
This arrangement benefits the Licensed Provider by reducing their upfront capital expenditure, as the Management Company bears the cost of acquiring these essential items. However, the Licensed Provider must return the premises, fixtures, equipment, and furnishings to the Management Company in the same condition as they were at the start of the agreement, accounting for reasonable wear and tear. The Licensed Provider also needs to use the fixtures, equipment, and furnishings in the manner in which they are intended and in compliance with all rules and requirements of the Management Company.
