What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are solely responsible for the Computer System. This includes its acquisition, operation, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. The franchisee is also responsible for how their Computer System interfaces with Degree Wellness's system and those of other third parties. Any consequences arising from improper operation, maintenance, or upgrades are also the franchisee's responsibility. Degree Wellness and its affiliates bear no responsibility for these aspects unless otherwise stated.

Degree Wellness requires franchisees to purchase and use a designated Computer System, including hardware, software, and a billing system. Franchisees must acquire these from suppliers specified by Degree Wellness, which may include Degree Wellness itself or its affiliates. The Computer System will manage customer information, accounting, billing, and credit card data. Degree Wellness may modify the Computer System's specifications and components periodically, potentially requiring franchisees to purchase or license new hardware or software and obtain related services.

The Franchise Agreement does not limit the frequency or cost of these changes, improvements, upgrades, or updates, and Degree Wellness is not obligated to reimburse franchisees for these costs. Franchisees must implement designated Computer System components within 60 days of receiving notice from Degree Wellness and ensure the system functions correctly after modifications. Degree Wellness retains independent and unlimited access to all information generated, stored, and tracked by the Computer System, including gross revenues and other stored data. Client-related health information may be protected by HIPPA if franchisees become covered entities.
