What is the process for Degree Wellness to designate my Protected Territory?

Before you open your Degree Wellness Studio for business, we or our designee will:
- Designate your Protected Territory (Franchise Agreement – Section 2.3). See Item 12 for additional information about your Protected Territory. You may only operate a Studio physically located in your Protected Territory.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before a franchisee opens their Degree Wellness Studio, Degree Wellness or its designee will designate the Protected Territory. Item 12 of the FDD contains additional information about the Protected Territory. The franchisee may only operate a studio physically located in their Protected Territory.
This means that Degree Wellness assigns an exclusive area where the franchisee can operate their studio. This is a common practice in franchising to prevent cannibalization between franchise locations. The Protected Territory ensures that no other Degree Wellness franchise can be opened within the designated area, giving the franchisee a degree of market exclusivity.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review Item 12 of the FDD to understand the specific criteria used to define the Protected Territory, including factors such as geographic boundaries, population density, and other demographic considerations. It is also important to understand the terms and conditions under which the Protected Territory may be modified or terminated by Degree Wellness.
