What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must pay a non-refundable transfer fee of $10,000 if they transfer their franchise to a new owner. This fee is due concurrently with the execution of the Transfer Agreement.
In addition to the transfer fee, the franchisee must also reimburse Degree Wellness for any reasonable expenses incurred while investigating and processing the proposed new owner. This reimbursement applies even if the transfer is not completed for any reason.
Other conditions must be met for Degree Wellness to approve the transfer, including ensuring the proposed new owner meets Degree Wellness's standards, completing the initial training program, and assuming the current lease, if applicable. The franchisee and their Principal Owners must also execute a Transfer Agreement that includes a general release of claims against Degree Wellness.
