Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If we determine, in our sole discretion, during or following completion of the Initial Training program, that your General Manager (if any) is not qualified to act as General Manager of the Franchise, then we have the right to require you to choose (and obtain our approval of) a new individual for that position.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Degree Wellness determines, in its sole discretion, during or following completion of the Initial Training program, that a franchisee's General Manager is not qualified to act as General Manager of the Franchise, then Degree Wellness has the right to require the franchisee to choose (and obtain Degree Wellness's approval of) a new individual for that position.

This means that Degree Wellness retains significant control over who manages a franchise location, even if the franchisee wishes to hire a General Manager. The franchisee bears the risk of investing in a General Manager who may not meet Degree Wellness's standards. This also means that the franchisee will need to find a replacement candidate that Degree Wellness approves.

Prospective franchisees should consider this when deciding whether to hire a General Manager and should carefully vet potential candidates to ensure they meet Degree Wellness's expectations. It would be prudent to discuss the specific criteria Degree Wellness uses to evaluate General Managers during the approval process to minimize the risk of rejection.
