What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain advance written approval from Degree Wellness before making any material alterations to the premises or the appearance of the franchise as it was originally developed. If a franchisee proceeds with unapproved alterations, Degree Wellness retains the right, at its discretion and at the franchisee's expense, to rectify those alterations.
This requirement ensures that all Degree Wellness locations maintain a consistent brand image and operational standard. It allows Degree Wellness to control the customer experience and protect its brand identity.
Furthermore, Degree Wellness also specifies that franchisees must maintain the condition and appearance of the franchise, including its equipment, furniture, furnishings, and signs, according to Degree Wellness's standards. This includes regular cleaning, repainting, redecorating, and necessary repairs or replacements. Degree Wellness also has the right to specify new equipment to meet changing standards or new methods of service. Franchisees may also be required to remodel, expand, redecorate, or refurnish their premises to reflect changes in Degree Wellness operations, provided certain conditions are met regarding the remaining term of the agreement and the implementation of such changes in a percentage of existing locations.
