What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement explicitly states that Degree Wellness does not provide any guarantees to the franchisee. Specifically, Item 23, section 17.5 states that if Degree Wellness provides any waiver, approval, consent, or suggestion, or if they neglect or delay their response or deny any request, it should not be interpreted as the company making any warranties or guarantees or assuming any liability or obligation to the franchisee.
This lack of guarantees means that franchisees bear the full risk of their business's success. Degree Wellness is not liable if the franchisee's business underperforms or fails. This is a common practice in franchising, as the franchisee is an independent business owner responsible for their studio's operations and financial outcomes.
Prospective Degree Wellness franchisees should carefully consider this lack of guarantees and conduct thorough due diligence before investing. This includes assessing the market potential in their chosen territory, understanding the competitive landscape, and developing a robust business plan. It is crucial to have realistic expectations and be prepared to handle the challenges of entrepreneurship without relying on any assurances from Degree Wellness.
