What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a General Manager is defined as an individual with primary day-to-day responsibility for the franchise's operations. This individual may or may not be the franchisee themselves (if the franchisee is an individual) or a Principal Owner, officer, director, or employee of the franchisee (if the franchisee is an entity other than an individual).
Degree Wellness may, but is not obligated to, agree to allow a franchisee to employ a general manager to operate the franchise. If a franchisee employs a General Manager, that General Manager must obtain all licenses and certifications required by law before assuming responsibilities at the franchise.
Prospective franchisees should note that if they choose to hire a General Manager, Degree Wellness requires that each General Manager enter into and deliver a Restrictive Covenant Agreement. This agreement is in a form approved by Degree Wellness, either when the Franchise Agreement is executed or when the person becomes affiliated with the franchisee. Degree Wellness is under no duty to enforce these agreements for the franchisee's or their own benefit. The obligations within the Restrictive Covenant Agreement will continue even after the franchise agreement is transferred, expires, or is terminated early.
