What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees and their designated staff must attend the Initial Training program at least 30 days before the franchise opens for business. This training is mandatory for the franchisee (if an individual), the Principal Owners (if the franchisee is a legal entity), and the General Manager (if any). All these individuals must complete the training to Degree Wellness's satisfaction.

The Initial Training consists of two parts: business-related training and technical service-related training. The business-related portion will be held at a location designated by Degree Wellness, typically in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area, but Degree Wellness reserves the right to change the location. This portion of the training occurs after the franchisee has executed a lease for the franchised business. Degree Wellness may delay the business training until all pre-training items in the manuals are completed.

Up to two individuals can attend the Business Training without additional charges. If the Principal Owner and General Manager are different people, both must attend. If the General Manager is also the Principal Owner, one other employee may attend without charge. Additional individuals may be allowed to attend, subject to space availability and tuition fees. The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with the Business Training, including tuition, registration, salaries, travel, lodging, and dining costs for all participating employees. Failure to attend and successfully complete the initial training can result in termination of the franchise agreement.
